The distinctive thing about secret spots is…well – that they are a secret. And everybody who knows about a secret spot usually wants it to stay that way. On the other hand, a secret spot is only fun when you can share it with your friends – these places feel just too beautiful and magical to keep them to yourself!
Raft Cove on Vancouver Island (this is in the Canada by the way) absolutely is all of the above….
Summer is in full swing. This week I’ll take you away with me into the land of powerful, right-breaking waves, but also afternoons full of bliss and laughter. Ready for a Thrill? Let’s get to Playa del Confital!
Vor Anspannung brennen die Muskeln in meinen Unterarmen, das Herz klopft mir bis zum Hals und ich merke, wie meine Hände feucht werden. Plötzlich scheint die Luft sehr dünn: Es geht einfach weder vor noch zurück, aber wahrscheinlich sehr bald nach unten. “Links oben ist der Nächste. Du musst einfach nur loslassen und Dich hochdrücken!” ruft meine Freundin mir von unten zu. Vor vielleicht zehn Minuten war sie selbst elegant wie eine Katze, von einem pinken Kunststoffgriff zum nächsten, die Wand hinaufgeturnt. Ich hingegen hänge inzwischen eher wie ein Faultier auf halber Strecke. Gut sechs Meter Luft zwischen mir und dem Boden will ich nur noch dorthin zurück …
